Spanning approximately 450KM, the spiritually charged expedition is to be completed on foot over the course of 6 nights & 7 days, depending on the group’s pace and itinerary.
We have heard the story of the blessed migration of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from Makkah to the illumined city of Madinah many times.
Perhaps some of us have even tried to imagine it: the sights and sounds, the smells of the desert and the pressure of the heat. But how many of us can say we’ve walked it?
The Hijra Walk is an unprecedented opportunity to retrace the original sacred migration route of the Messenger ﷺ in the company of the direct descendent of the Rasool, Ḥabīb Kaẓim al-Saqqāf.
The walk will be further enhanced in spiritual significance as it will take place in the blessed month of Rajab, wherein the greatest night of the Prophet’s ﷺ life took place: the Isrā’ wa’l-Mi‘rāj.
Taking place in Rajab 1447 (Wednesday 7th January to Sunday 18th January 2026), the Greensville Trust will undertake the 450km fundraising expedition with twenty individuals who successfully apply. The Hijra Walk is open to both females & males subject to a level of fitness & training beforehand.
The walk aims to raise £400,000, successful applicants will raise funds towards this.
Each individual will donate or raise £20,000 for the Greensville Trust.
The cost of the walk itself is £3,995, this price includes:
4-star hotels in Makkah and in Madinah with breakfast included.
6 nights camping on the Hijrah route with full-board meals.
Airport pick-up from Jeddah.
Transportation between Makkah and Madinah.
Expert male and female guides.

How will the £20,000 you raise be used?

With the exception of the Mosque at Emm Lane, the Interim Plan sets out to bring life to all of the buildings across the Muṣṭafā Mount's site. The Plan looks at how the site's ten buildings and gardens and grounds will be used in accordance with the Trust’s vision for the site.
